PROTECTING THE COMMUNITIES WE CALL HOME

Your Organization May Qualify for Up to $200,000

The DHS Nonprofit Security Grant Program — known as NSGP — is a federal program run by the Department of Homeland Security that provides funding to eligible nonprofit organizations to improve their physical security and emergency preparedness. Think of it as the federal government recognizing that houses of worship, schools, and nonprofits are frequent targets and providing direct financial support to help them get safer. Westchester County is included in the NSGP-UA funding stream, meaning local organizations are eligible to apply.

Who Qualifies

501(c)(3) nonprofits at elevated risk — includes houses of worship of all denominations, schools, and community organizations throughout Westchester County.

What It Covers

CCTV systems, exterior lighting, bollards, access control, Emergency Action Plan development, risk assessment documentation, staff training, and tabletop exercises.

Houses of Worship Advantage

Faith communities receive a 3x scoring multiplier. First-time applicants receive +15 bonus points. A professionally prepared application significantly improves your odds.

How We Help

EPP conducts the professional Vulnerability Assessment required for the application, assists with the Investment Justification narrative, and delivers all funded services during the grant period.

Start Now — Prequalify First

NYS SFS prequalification is required before applying and takes several weeks. Nearly 100 organizations were rejected in a recent cycle for lapsed prequalification alone.
